I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for helping to steered PYFC's to another Championships Trophy in this year Merdeka Cup 2009. We finished Top Of The League and beat Penang Chinese in Grand Final to be Champions of all and retaining the Title for 2nd consercutive years. Good jobs!

We are on the verge of making History by winning the Grand Final for 2nd Consercutives year although this Team is different from last year Team.

The beginning of the match were much more even, with both Teams piled on the pressure on each other. Jit Sin's which still using the same tactical formation attacking through both their flank. With the experienced from Jit Sin's Right Winger, Ming's, He several times beat our Leftback Yean Pin's by giving Him a torrid time to run down the flank.

The 1st chances came for Jit Sin's when Ming's cut through and beat PYFC Leftback Yean Pin's and pulled off a low crosses into near post but to see Stopper Vincent's block and rebound for a Corner. Again, the Jit Sin's came closed to take the lead through their Striker from a close range effort but to see PYFC Keeper Shao Jieh's parried away. PYFC Keeper were in fine display with couples of good 1:1 saves.

PYFC chances came close when the received a Free Kick 20 meters from Keeper Post after Jit Sin's were pinalised for fouling Yong Kai in Midfield. Ee Ven doubt the 'O'ven by His Coach's Tony, step up to take the Free Kick. He wasted the opportunity by firing it high.

PYFC's Boon Chong and Jia Hong were left to keep dropping back to support the back four after Jit Sin's keep putting the pressure to securing the lead but nothing came close.

PYFC's back four were in tremendous forms. Tackles everything came near their post. Giving Jit Sin's a torrid time to take the lead.

Not much chances after the missed.

Not much changes in the 2nd Half for PYFC. All the players has been remained after securing a deep breath in 1st half for 0-0 scoreline.

Vincent who was playing as Stopper in the 1st half, has been swap to play Center Midfield and switching must Defensive Jia Hong to Stopper.

In the 2nd half, there is much better look side for PYFC. The pushing hard to securing the lead which spreadhead by Ming Chiang, Hai How, Ee 'O'Ven, Yong Kai n Co's.

Chances by chancees for PYFC's were left dejected with all the poor shots they have.

Vincent has been Subsituted by Mou Kheng and swithching Him with Jia Hong. With Mou Kheng playing Stopper and Jia Hong playing as Center Midfield alongside Boon Chong. Victor Yeoh, another player been send in to replaced Yong Kai in right flank.

PYFC defense the scoreline well without giving any chances to Jit Sin. Too much Defensive plays finally paid the price for PYFC when Rightback Jia Khuang injured and forced to be stretched off the field. This left PYFC playing with only 10 mens on the field. Without any delay, Tony's switched to more attacking tactics by bringing in Xiong for Center Midfield position and switching Jia Hong back to plays as Rightback.

PYFC's finally came closed with Ming Chiang went passed Jit Sin's Defenders and came to 1:1 with the Keeper and only to see Him placed the ball inch out the left post.

There is still not enough of firepower upfront to score the opening goal of the match. This forced another Substitution has been made by bringing in Wei Peng for Ming Chiang after sustaining a knock by Keeper.

Speedy Wei Peng were fast to run side by side with Jit Sin's fullback and sending the crossed into Center to see Ee 'O'Ven slotted the ball in to put PYFC 1-0 leads.

PYFC are much more joyful than any other Teams who participated in this inaugural Penang Chinese Football League (Merdeka Cup) 2009. They celebrated tons of joys in this week. You guys must be wondering why right? Be patient ... go through this whole article then you will know why.

First, PYFC 'A' beat Synergy FC 1-0 (played on Sat 23rd May 2009 at USM Field) and playing without most of their FAP Division players but still managed to kept Clean Sheet by beating Synergy 1-0. Thanks to Wai Loong cooly placed Penalty Kick that earned PYFC 'A' maximum 3 points.

Secondly, PYFC 'B' beat Citibank 3-2 (played on Sun 24th May 2009 at Teknik Field) in this Top of the table clash.

Thirdly, PYFC 'B' beat Citibank to leadfrog over Citibank to Top the League with 10 points.

Finally, PYFC 'B' were named the 'Team of The Week' for this week. (Picture as below).

Fai's enjoying more than anyone else. Therefore, He do some sit up to pleased His fighting players. Refer to below for Fai's sit up. What??? You guys don't believe me? Take a look at this series of pictures below to proof that our Team Manager is doing it.

You see ... I have told you. Our Team Management is going hard just to pleased you guys. Fai's eventually do 100 times Sit Ups. Good jobs Boss.

PYFC 'A' Doubt as The Comeback Kids

PYFC 'A' vs Ramblers (played on Sun 17th May 2009 at USM D Field)

PYFC 'A' Management were left wondering where is their remaining players and why there is only 10 players turning up for the match against Hard Fought Ramblers at USM. Without any much choice, Fai's fielded all the players that He had to plays against Ramblers for the most of the First Half.

The first half was a dour affair as both teams struggled to adapt to the poor pitch condition. At the other end, Ah Han had a goal disallowed for a clear offside and Botak crumbling ridiculously to the ground each time Ramblers Michael came in contact with him... as if he was assaulted with a stick! But the tackles by PYFC 'A' on Ramblers players came in fast and hard until the referee did not get a chances to see it.

Relieves for Fai's and Beh after seeing Jay Wan walked to the pitch and getting His gear on for the match.

After the re-start, the match continued in similar fashion as Ramblers pushed in search of a lead while PYFC 'A' resumed their duties by tackling whatever or any Ramblers players with a ball at his feet to prevent them from scoring. PYFC 'A' were doomed and lets Ramblers taking the leads through Darlington free kick was knocked into the net by Ming to put PYFC 'A' down 1-0. This opened up the game and PYFC 'A' did not lost their fighting spirit and tried everything they can to snatch the equaliser. However, it was Ramblers' that stretched the lead further. A messy clearance from PYFC 'A' Defense caught Captain@Centerback Terry slipped and fell that led to Poay's feet and he gratefully curled the ball home beyond the outstretched arms of the keeper Oh Nie. With the 2 goals lead, Ramblers found themself crushing to a victory. But PYFC 'A' were left fighting for the goal and maybe the equaliser goal as well. Their fighting sprit finally paid off after their persistent forays into Ramblers half saw a free kick were conceded by Ramblers just outside the box with barely 10 minutes left to play. And when the ball was floated in, it took a wicked deflection and bounced to the far post for Alex to power his header into the net. PYFC 'A' has pulled a goal back. Then straight from the re-start, possession was given away and a long punt forward to Ah Han saw him shrug off the presence of Man for him to stride into the penalty area to plant a low shot pass Chris. It was to be Ramblers most costly 2 minutes as they threw away a perfectly good lead to allow PYFC 'A' back into the game and were let off the hook once again after 2-0 down to share the spoils with a Ramblers side itching for some payback for the quarter-final lost last season.

PYFC 'A' were left off the hook for the 2nd time. The 1st one from the past week Match against De' Butterfly when they came back from 2-1 down in last 5 minutes to snatched a 3-2 win. Cheers to PYFC 'A'.

Glorious Moment for PYFC 'A'

PYFC 'A' vs De' Butterfly (played on Wed 5th May 2009 at Teknik Field)

The match between this 2 Teams finally followed the scheduled after has been postponed on last Sun 3rd May due to bad pitch conditions at USM Field. A very nice weather today for both Teams to play.

PYFC 'A' Management, Fai's giving chances to few of His new players in the Starting VI Line Up. The like of Jeng Loon 'Liverpool', Wai Loong, Kean Huat 'Han', Chee Yue and etc not features in His plan today due to Injuries and late turning up. With the missing of some Superstars, Seng, Heh 'Prawn' and Jay Wan who from CRC Junior get their chances to slot into the Starting VI. 4-5-1 formation has been used against opponent.

Yong Chen 'Botak'

The match were quite even in the 1st few minutes with both Teams tied to 0-0. PYFC 'A' were never near to scoring the lead until De' Butterfly defensive error led to PYFC 'A' taking the lead from Kok Chuan with cooly place the ball beyond on rushing De' Butterfly Keeper. 1-0 for PYFC 'A'.

Half Time: PYFC 'A' 1 De' Butterfly 0

In the 2nd Half, Fai's make changes to His Line Up by bringing Kean Huat 'Han' for Say Eong to have beef up the Attack option and Kheng Aun to beef up the Defense. Then switching Yong Chen 'Botak' to Left Wing and Kok Chuan to Right Wing.

A few good crosses from Yong Chen 'Botak' into the middle for Kean Huat to scores but unfortunetely, Big De' Butterfly Keeper doubt as 'Brad Friedel' pull of few saves and even De' Butterfly Defender such as Pao and Chin Heng 'Transformer' clear with their Headers.

Chances by chances were denied by De' Butterfly Defensive from the Left, Right and even Center. Opponent finally scored their equalising goal with a cooly long range effort taken by Cheong outside the Free Kick box caught Oh Nie the Keeper with a bouncing ball on uneven pitch into His net. Oh Nie were left dejected with the pitch.

Again, PYFC 'A' conceiding another goal. This time were De' Butterfly Striker 'Chen Jing' running wild on the left pitch by beating Alex, Terry before trying a Shot which was saves by Oh Nie before De' Butterfly Midfielder Jimmy Chong place into an empty net to put PYFC 'A' 2-1 down.

Another Substitution been made by bringing in Andy for Heh 'Prawn' to steer up the attacking options.

Although 2-1 down, PYFC 'A' were still pushing hard for the equaliser or for the winner. They failed to score until last 5 minutes, when they finally break the deadlock with Kean Huat 'Han' cooly heading the ball past beyond De' Butterfly Keeper reach. Is 2-2 now.

After few minutes, another goal for PYFC 'A' to take back the lead. Kean Huat 'Han' again taking a shot but was brilliantly saves by De' Butterfly Keeper, and Jay Wan rush toward for the rebound and placed the ball past Keeper into the net. 3-2 for PYFC 'A'.

Penang Chinese Football League 2009 (Merdeka Cup) Opening Match

PYFC 'B' vs Anak Malaysia (played on Sunday 2nd May at USM 'C' Field)

The opening match for this year Penang Chinese Footballl League 2009 (Merdeka Cup) are terrible due to certain issue such as USM Pitch condition (Muddy and Full of Water), Players registration checklist from Organiser are not propered prepared and we keep on searching for a pitch to play (Not inform by Organiser).

After facing all the problem, finally we are managed to find a pitch to play. Myself and Tong Liang were discussing on Starting VI for today match. After discussion, here is the Starting VI for the match to be Kick Off as below:-

The match started with both Team pressuring each other. Nothing much happen until 20th minutes when Amir finally get a chance to scored from 5 yards box to put PYFC 'B' ahead 1-0.

After few minutes, Anak Malaysia came back strongly to push for the equaliser and finally paid off from a long range effort from Winger. PYFC 'B' Keeper mistakenly loose the ball from a lob and drop into His on goal to level the match to 1-1 before Half Time.

Few minutes later, Anak Malaysia having another chance to taking the lead for the 1st time from Penalty Kick after Aik Seng tackles from behind. Chui, PYFC 'B' were cooly as He could be to pull off a stunning superb Penalty Kick saves by punching the ball out of the area. Saves for PYFC 'B' and relieves for Aik Seng.

Half Time: PYFC 'B' 1 Anak Malaysia 1

The match begin in the 2nd Half with both Teams have equal chances of scoring goals. Luck where not with them and finally PYFC 'B' got the chance from Free Kick after been brought down. Ah Guan step up to take the Free Kick from 20 yards ++. He fired a powerfull long range Free Kick effort to Top Corner. This is beyond Anak Malaysia Keeper reached. Is 2-1 now for PYFC 'B'.

Nothing much happen after the goal because both Teams were playing safely.

Frustating Day for PYFC

I were left frustrated after seeing only 9 players turning up for the friendly match arranged. Looking elsewhere whether can find anyone playing for us.

Luck was with him. He saw Derek's and his bunch of players were training around the area. Without any delaying, he seek Derek for help. Derek's showing his pithiness to Tony's by offering Loans for his players.

I take this opportunity by offering 1 day loan contract to Kugz 'Ferdinand', Fajar 'Evra', Jimmy 'Nani' Chong, Derek 'Ronadez', Vincente 'Rodriguez' and 'Philipp' Lam.

After the massacre, finally I've made up my mind on choosing the Starting XI for the match. The match started quite even with both Team piled on the pressure on each other.

Belia Gelugor came closed to scoring their 1st goal of the match with a long range but was parried away by PYFC Junior Keeper Shao Jieh.

Few moment later, Fajar 'Evra' were given the opportunity to take Free Kick from just outside the 18-yards box. Unfortunately, he placed his free kick just in the center to let the Keeper easily tips it over the bar for corner.

Belia Gelugor finally getting another chances to score from a long range cross but PYFC Keeper were alert for the long ball by running up front to grab the ball but the ball was slip up high, btw, Shao Jieh cover back his error by jumping up high for the ball with his knee raise to prevent someone come near him.

Finally, Belia Gelugor managed to broke the deadlock with a nice through passes beating PYFC offside trap. Keeper making a blunder for miss kicking the ball that went straight to opponent leg to run ring round him into an empty net. He were left laying on the ground dejectedly.

PYFC response well to the goal mistake by their own Keeper. The found their equaliser from the superb run down the flank by Derek's and sending the ball to Ang to cooly sloted it in to make it 1-1.

PYFC suffering a massive blow when Kheng Aun@Nani was forced to be Substituted after sustaining injury. At the same time, Vice Capt. Vincent Tan was ready to replaced him. I advice him to play more as Central Midfield and switching Liverpool to play as Right Flank.

Nothing much happen after the Substitution as the Ref blew for the Half Time wistled.

During Half Time, I has spoken to the Junior Keeper on his mistake cost us the goal. He admitted he making the mistake. Without any further delaying, I have make 4 changes to the Starting XI from the 1st Half squad by bringing in experience Penang Chinese State Keeper Oh Nie, speedy fullback Chun Lam on the right for Lye, Vincente for Fajar as Leftback and Central Midfielder Kok Chuan for Liverpool.

The changes did not work out well. After few minutes of playing in the 2nd Half, Lam making mistake from the back passes by Central Midfielder Kok Chuan to him. He left the ball when past him and straight to opponnent scoring their 2nd goals of the day. PYFC caught themself 2-1 down.

Although they were trailing against Belia Gelugor, nothing to lose from PYFC as they keep on pushing hard for the equaliser or more.

Loan player Derek's did a lots of hard work down the flank with impressive and costly low crosses for our Strikers and Offensive Midfielder to score, but nothing prove to be worth for PYFC. The missed several chances by firing blank and superb saves from Belia Gelugor Keeper.

The hard work from PYFC players finally paid off from brilliant Free Kick took by Vice Capt. Vincent Tan. Instead of taking a direct shot on Keeper, he unselfishly crossed the ball to Kok Chuan who was left unmarked that time to cooly control and slotted the ball past through Keeper leg. A sound of 'Ole'!!! and 'Five Ringgit'!!! was heard from supporters stand. Is 2-2 now for PYFC.

PYFC players does not have a singled minute to take a deep breath because Belia Gelugor pressing hard for another goals. They wanted the match so badly, nothing, just a win.

This time, Belia Gelugor came closed to taking the lead for the 3rd times but was denied by on rushing out PYFC Keeper Oh Nie to boot the ball away from opponent Striker. From the clearance, PYFC came strongly back with Counter Attack down on the Left Flank by Jimmy Chong. He beats all the players came closed to him with his speed and forced his way into 18 yards box to face 1:1 with the Keeper, but unfortunetely, he push the ball too far from his leg and went past the Keeper and out for a goal kick.

After the Counter Attack from Jimmy Chong's, he found himself being brought down and that led him to sustaining another injury lay off. The immediate impact was bad for Jimmy Chong. Without any 2nd thought, I've replaced him with Liverpool to prevent further injuries to him and will led to Derek grumbling next to my ear for injuring his star studded player.

The Substitution proved costly for PYFC. Midfielders did not stay to the positon they belong. Midfielders keep on switching places with Defenders and Strikers. Once I see Lam going forward to receiving through passes from Ang, while Derek fall deeply to Lam place as fullback.

Opponent taking this advantage by cutting past through the middle and sending strong low ball to Striker to cooly placed it beyond on rushing Keeper to making save. PYFC is caught down to earth once more time. Is 3-2 for Belia Gelugor. Another Substitution from me by bringing on Lye for Vincent as fullback. We need more experienced players there and to keep the scoreline.

With several minutes left, PYFC keep on pushing hard to equaliser for the 3rd times but nothing went right for them. Another good crosses from Derek's right to the head of unmarking Kok Chuan to head the ball into an empty net, but he choosed to used his knee to score and proved to be a miss. The ball straight went wide.

There is chances as well for Ang and Jimmy, but their strikes was parried away or saves by Keeper.

Final Score: Belia Gelugor beats PYFC 3-2
MOTM: Derek 'Ronadez' as voted by today players.
PS: I have officially making offer to all the Loans players to sign permanently for PYFC. :D
